Elected officials from the MRC de Mékinac council unanimously rejected TES Canada‘s wind farm project at an assembly on Wednesday.
According to several media, after a year of neutrality regarding this project, elected officials decided to take a position, after hearing the citizens. Social acceptability is not there.
The group Still Master Among Us, which represents opponents of this project, spoke of it as a historic moment. The MRC will submit a brief related to this position during the sessions of the Office of Public Hearings on the Environment (BAPE) relating to this project.
On November 2, at the same time as the municipal elections took place, citizens of three municipalities also voted to reject the project.
As for TES Canada, it is open to improving its project.
