Representative Hussein Haridi submitted a parliamentary question to the Prime Minister, regarding the extent of compliance with the government’s decision issued on March 18, 2026 to rationalize travel expenses abroad and limit them to absolute necessity.
The extent of actual compliance with the decision’s controls
The representative referred to what was recently announced regarding a person accompanying the Egyptian national team delegation heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which raises questions about the extent of actual compliance with the decision’s controls and its application to all parties without exception.
Haridi called on the government to clarify the official capacity or assignment under which this accompaniment took place, the party that bore the travel and accommodation costs, and whether the necessary approvals were obtained in accordance with the established controls.
Criteria governing the implementation of the decision to rationalize travel
He also asked about the standards governing the implementation of the travel rationalization decision, and the measures taken by the government to ensure that there is no duplication or unjustified exceptions in implementation.
The MP stressed the importance of achieving transparency and discipline in implementing spending rationalization decisions, ensuring the rationalization of public money and achieving justice in implementing government policies.
