AfCFTA: A Catalyst for Economic Conversion

From Signatory to Active Participant

Mozambique’s journey to AfCFTA participation began in 2018 when it became a signatory to the agreement. The country submitted its price offer in 2024, a crucial step in defining its trade commitments. Following approval by the African Union heads of state and government in February 2025, mozambique is now poised to actively engage in trade with 47 other African nations under the AfCFTA framework.
