Earlier this year, Taleworlds Entertainment announced a brand new downloadable expansion to Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. This is not a smaller addition, but rather a significant upgrade of the basic game. For the first time in the series, players will be able to take war at sea and take command of ships in large sea battles.
The world map has been rebuilt to make room for maritime gaming, and players can also look forward to improved weather effects that will affect the sea battles. A brand new faction will also be introduced: Nords, a Viking -inspired people specializing in maritime matches.
This is how Taleworld’s itself describes the extension:
“Sail on the open sea, suffer powerful rafts and create your own heritage in War Sails, the epic single -player extension of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. War Sails brings naval warfare to banner lord for the first time, and allows players to control powerful ships, participate in exciting sea battle and master Maritim conquest.”
For those who are tired of being locked on land, this is the chance to embrace a new form of warfare. War Sails is scheduled to be launched in the fall of 2025, although no exact date has yet been confirmed. A trailer has been released to showcase the new faction – appropriately accompanied by Amon Amarth’s thunderous sounds.
