Motorola Razr Fold: MWC 2026 Highlights

The Motorola Razr Fold is worthy of one of our Awards for Best of MWC 2026 thanks to its exceptional engineering in the book-style foldable category. The device also boasts a massive 6,000mAh battery and a top-tier triple 50MP camera system, all in a remarkably slim chassis.

Motorola is also proving that the “foldable compromise” in photography is over. Why? The Razr Fold achieved the highest DXOMark score for a foldable phone to date. Furthermore, the company has significantly improved its software support. The brand’s first book-like foldable boasts up to seven years of major Android updates. This puts it on par with the two top Android providers in terms of updates: Google and Samsung.

The Motorola Razr Fold is one of the most impressive foldable phones of recent years

The Motorola Razr Fold comes to MWC 2026 as a strong competitor to the current foldable industry. The device has a 6.6-inch external display and an 8.1-inch internal display, both of which are bigger than the screens of its main global competitors.

The internal OLED display stands out because it can get as bright as 6,200 nits, which makes it easy to read in any light. Even with these big screens, the phone is still thin. It is only 4.6mm thick when open and 9.9mm thick when closed.

The powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset drives the performance. There is up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage supporting the SoC. To sustain this power, Motorola has equipped the device with a 6,000mAh battery. This is significantly higher than the current foldable average.

The charging capabilities are equally robust, featuring 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. Motorola claims the device can gain 12 hours of battery life in just 12 minutes of charging.

The imaging system is a central pillar of the Razr Fold’s appeal. It utilizes three 50MP Sony Lytia sensors for the main, telephoto, and ultrawide lenses. The 3x periscope telephoto lens is capable of 100x Super Zoom. Plus, the entire system benefits from Pantone color tuning for improved color accuracy.

The outside screen is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. The device also boasts IP48/IP49 ratings for dust and water resistance. Furthermore, it supports the Moto Pen Ultra, a stylus that offers precise drawing and a quick-access toolbar.
