On February 24, 2026, around 4:00 a.m., the Grand Yoff district police station arrested two individuals following a nighttime chase. As part of its security patrols, the police specify, the Research Brigade surprised, near the Talibou DABO Center, a gang of four individuals traveling on two motorcycles, one of which was towed. Upon seeing the police, the suspects fled, abandoning the towed vehicle on the road.
A chase was immediately initiated, allowing two of the criminals to be apprehended near the Idrissa POUYE Hospital. The two other accomplices managed to escape. The recovered motorcycle, PIAGGIO brand, belongs to a resident of Liberté VI Extension. During their hearing, the defendants confessed: they admitted to having climbed the wall of the victim’s home and forced the steering device to seize the machine.
According to the national police, it appears from police files that one of those arrested is a repeat offender, already referred for aggravated theft. The two suspects were taken into custody.
