French hopes Ride on Tech3’s Performance in Doha
As the 2025 motogp season unfolds, French racing enthusiasts eagerly await a podium finish from their representatives. Despite promising signs, neither French riders like Johann Zarco and Fabio Quartararo nor the French-affiliated Tech3 team have yet secured a top-three spot. all eyes are now on the Qatar Grand Prix, where Tech3, the official “B” team of KTM, hopes to break this streak.
Historical Data Suggests a Strong Showing for KTM Tech3
Past performances at the Doha track offer a glimmer of hope for KTM Tech3. The team boasts a former winner in its ranks: Enéa Bastianini, who previously triumphed at this circuit while riding a Ducati. Moreover, KTM bikes demonstrated their potential last year, securing two podium finishes. Brad Binder, after qualifying fourth, consistently finished second in both the Sprint and main races.
Riders Express Optimism Ahead of the Qatar Grand prix
Riders are entering the Qatar Grand Prix with a positive outlook, fueled by recent improvements and favorable track history.
Enea Bastianini’s Confidence Boost
we took a good step forward in Austin. I felt good in the race and we got an excellent result, from 17th to 7th place on the grid. I think we can still progress this week in Qatar. Lusail is one of my favorite circuits, where we have experienced great performances in the past. I am therefore very curious to go and see how we will behave with the KTM.
Bastianini’s statement reflects his growing comfort with the KTM bike and his anticipation for the Qatar race.
Maverick Viñales Seeks to Capitalize on momentum
Maverick Viñales, experiencing a resurgence in form, echoed Bastianini’s sentiments: We arrive in Qatar with a good feeling after the progress made last week in Austin. The result was certainly not the expected one, but I felt fast and competitive all the weekend for the first time of the season.I just want to go to Qatar and continue working in this direction. Doha is a circuit that I really like, where I have obtained good results in the past. So let’s try to be competitive on Friday and see how it goes for the weekend. It’s always special to run at night,so I can’t wait!
Rookie Performance and Qualifying Results Add to the Optimism
Last year’s performance at the Qatar circuit further bolsters the team’s confidence. Pedro Acosta, then a rookie with Gasgas (now part of the Tech3 family), secured an impressive eighth-place finish in qualifying and replicated that result in the Sprint race. He followed up with a ninth-place finish in the main race. Bastianini and Viñales also delivered solid results, finishing fifth and tenth, respectively.Notably, Bastianini achieved the third-fastest time in Saturday’s qualifying sessions.
Team Management Highlights Favorable Track Conditions and Rider Progress
Nicolas Goyon, team manager of Red Bull KTM Tech3, emphasized the team’s positive outlook:
we are now heading for Qatar for the last international round before our European tour. The Lusail International Circuit, located in the middle of the desert, is always a privileged place, especially when we run at night. It is a route that is generally suitable for our motorcycle and last season, a KTM rose on sprint and race podiums. Enea Bastianini and Maverick Viñales both arrive from Austin with a better feeling on the motorcycle. maverick qualified directly in Q2 for the first time of the season, and I am sure that without the grid problems, he would have finished close to the Top 5. Enea signed his best result in KTM and, above all, he feels better and more in control over the KTM.In addition, they both carried out important aerodynamic tests last week, which will certainly help them to gain speed. I am convinced that they will both arrive in Doha with an overflowing motivation, and we look forward to finding them.
