The planned tunnel will span a total of 38.7 kilometers, with 27.7 kilometers running beneath the seabed.The connection will link Punta Malabata in Morocco with Punta Paloma in Spain. The infrastructure will consist of two single-track rail tunnels,each with an inner diameter of 7.90 meters. These tunnels will be separated by a service and safety gallery with a diameter of 6 meters. Cross galleries, also with a diameter of 6 meters, will be constructed every 340 meters to provide access and emergency egress.
