Morocco kicked off the African Cup of Nations at home last Sunday. It was not an entertaining opening match, because you really need two teams that are prepared to play football. The Atlas Lions had a hard time against the Comoros defensive block, especially in the first half, but still managed to make the difference after the break. Thanks to an unprecedented goal from substitute Ayoub El Kaabi and a precise slide from Brahim Díaz, the title favorite started the tournament with an excellent victory: 2-0.

Where do the team’s strengths lie and what playing style did national coach Walid Regragui use in the first match? Football zone watched the first match and figured it out for you.
