The Morimachi Cherry blossom Festival, a cherished tradition in Showa, is making a grand return after a 25-year absence. From April 26th to May 11th, Oka Park in Aoba will transform into a hub of activity, hosting a diverse range of events designed to celebrate the beauty of the cherry blossoms and foster community spirit.this year’s festival promises a blend of conventional performances, unique competitions, and engaging workshops, offering something for everyone.

Opening Weekend: A Festive Start
The festival kicks off on April 26th with an opening ceremony, followed by a unique culinary experience: a limited serving of Pumpkin Baekok jenzai (400 meals). Tea enthusiasts can indulge in the Morimachi Omote Gaya Tea Lovers gathering. Animal lovers can attend the Nationwide Dog and Cat Transfer Meeting, hosted by the Cherry Blossom Festival Chairman.
May Day Celebrations: Races,Cosplay,and Dance
May 3rd brings a burst of energy with the Tyranno Race in Mori,a Mori mascot curry cosplay event,and a Cosplay Magic stage show at the Odoko Box. The day concludes with a vibrant Hula Dance Stage Show and Workshop.
Cultural Performances and Competitions
on May 4th, witness the “When Food King” competition, a performance by Mori Machi North and sandwow North Korea, and a traditional Matsumae Kagura performance. Dance School One will also present a captivating stage show.
Karaoke and Song Show
May 5th features a Karaoke score battle, while may 6th showcases the Mori Machi Cherry Blossom Festival Song Show, recorded publicly by STV. Other attractions on this day include Onishisakrantan, specialty product sales booths, and a Self-Defense Force PR booth.
Workshops and Horse Racing
The festival concludes with a workshop by Mori Middle School students on May 10th, where participants can create a Habarium ballpoint pen. The grand finale on May 11th is the Banba horse Racing Competition, presided over by the chairman of the livestock resonance.
