The community of communes (CDC) of the Grand Saint-Émilionnais works on the subject of mobility and wishes to propose, organize and program an action plan.
Mobility remains one of the priorities in Grand Saint-Émilionnais, even if the team in charge of the subject for the CDC considers that the work done is not sufficiently followed by effects. “It is regrettable that it does not go faster, mobility is essential for the attractiveness of the territory and, even if I remain optimistic, I find it unfortunate that we do not put the financial means, I remain a little on my hunger,” explains Agnès Chariol, vice-president of the environment and mobility, accompanied by her team made up of Anouchka Combes, and Rashelle Dumas, Town planning and spatial planning specified.
Public meeting
Several projects are underway and have been budgeted. It was necessary to work on different mobility given the typology of the territory: no real centrality, vineyards and landscapes classified world heritage of humanity by UNESCO, the task was not easy.
A first step consisted in encouraging the practice of cycling, in particular through the implementation of the Prim’o Vélo system (for which there are still a few files to withdraw), the development of a cycle diagram and the progressive installation of bicycle arches. Other developments are to come, which, on the other hand, require more investment, in time and in means (400,000 euros): rental of self-service bicycles, creation of a multimodal pole at Saint-Émilion station, solidarity transport or carpooling lines.
Before the summer, the team asked all people living, working or passing through the territory around mobility via a questionnaire. After collection and analysis of the numerous responses, the team each invites to present the results of this survey on Wednesday, September 17, at 6 p.m. at the CDC headquarters (1109, Route de la Gare in Saint-Émilion).
