MLK Parade Las Vegas 2024: Route, Schedule & Road Closures

LAS VEGAS, NV – This Monday, January 19, downtown Las Vegas will prepare to welcome the 44th parade annual honoring of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a key event to commemorate the federal holiday celebrating the civil rights leader’s legacy.

The parade will start at 10:00 am and is part of the King Week activities. This year’s theme is “Living the Dream: Justice on the Road, Hope in Adversity.”

Route and notable participants

The parade route will run along Fourth Street, from Gass Avenue to Ogden Avenue, in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. During the day, attendees will be able to enjoy the participation of marching bands, community organizations and prominent civic leaders.

This year, parade grand marshals will be North Las Vegas Chief Judge Belinda T. Harris and ACLU of Nevada Executive Director Athar Haseebullah.

Road closures and transportation logistics

Municipal authorities have issued warnings about major traffic disruptions. Street closures will be implemented from 6:00 am, which are expected to remain in place until 4:00 pm. Affected areas include:
