The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office has obtained a fugitive
warrant for a man accused of kidnapping a teenage girl, causing an Amber alert
on Sunday.
Christopher Eugene Biederman, 32, was arrested in Allen
County, Ohio, after he was accused of kidnapping a 15-year-old girl from
Bakersville, North Carolina.
Deputies said she was found safe on Monday and returned
home.
Biederman is being held in the Allen County Detention Center
and is charged with felony abduction of a child. Deputies said he faces the
same charge for another warrant from the Lima Police Department in Lima, Ohio.
The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office said the FBI is
involved in the ongoing investigation and said they believe federal authorities
will eventually take over the case.
