Initially, Les Courageux honed their skills on the frozen ponds of Miquelon. A notable milestone was reached in january 2008 with the inauguration of an outdoor skating rink next to the Stade de l’Avenir. This offered a dedicated space for winter training. As the 1990s, the team has adapted to the realities of their surroundings. with the construction of a local leisure center, Les Courageux now primarily train indoors, utilizing rollerblades during their weekly sessions in the sports hall. This shift reflects the team’s commitment to continuing their sport despite geographical and climatic challenges.
Recent Encounters and Future aspirations
recently, Les Courageux took to the ice once more, engaging in a friendly match against “Les Jets,” a recreational hockey team. This isn’t the first time the team has ventured beyond Miquelon. In recent years, they’ve also competed in roller hockey matches against Canadian teams in Sherbrooke and Montreal, showcasing their skills on an international stage. Looking ahead, Les Courageux are exploring the possibility of future trips within France to further expand their competitive horizons.
