Elisabetta Sgarbi,the festival’s director,emphasizes the theme’s suitability,highlighting its “broad sense and for the infinite nuances in which to swim inside.”

The theme, reportedly suggested by the esteemed Italian philosopher Massimo Cacciari, promises a rich exploration of intelligence not merely as intellect, but as a driving force behind creativity, innovation, and human understanding. Milan is gearing up to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Umberto Eco’s seminal novel, the Name of the Rose, with a special event at the Palazzo del Cinema de Milan anteo on June 4th. The meeting, titled The name of La Rosa.Of the novel, to the cinema, to the graphic novel, will explore the novel’s enduring impact across various media.

This event highlights the continued relevance of Eco’s work, which, according to a 2024 study by the University of Bologna, remains one of the most studied and adapted novels in contemporary literature.
