VERONA, Italy, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) — President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Kirsty Coventry, today declared the closure of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games.
Held from February 6 to 22, the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina featured 116 competitions in eight sports and 16 disciplines.
Norway led the medal table with 18 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze medals, followed by the United States and the Netherlands. China won five gold, four silver and six bronze medals, achieving its best Winter Olympic result outside the country.
