Tehran considers it its duty and legal right to take revenge for the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. This is stated in a statement by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers revenge on the perpetrators of this crime as its duty and legal right… The assassination of the highest political leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the preeminent leader of the Shia world is an open declaration of war on Muslims, especially Shiites around the world, by the sinister US-Zionist alliance,” – the message says.
He also expressed condolences over the death of Khamenei, saying that “the path of this great man will continue.”
In addition, the Secretary of the Iranian National Security Council Ali Larijani declared that “today we will strike the United States and Israel with a force they have never experienced before.”
Let us recall that Khamenei was killed during a joint US-Israeli strike on Tehran on February 28.
