How Anonymous File Sharing Works

According to a recent announcement, Android users can now open shared files directly through a link, without the prior requirement of logging into a Microsoft account. This applies specifically to Word,PowerPoint,and Excel files.

To utilize this feature, the sender must be logged into their own Microsoft account. They can then create a shareable link by opening the desired file, selecting the share option (typically found in the top right corner), and entering the recipient’s email address. The link can then be sent directly or copied and pasted into a message.

When the recipient receives the link on their Android device, they can simply tap it to open the file. The app will then display the document and prompt the user to either sign in or dismiss the login request, allowing for immediate viewing.
