Over four decades after its initial release, Michael Jackson’s Thriller continues to resonate wiht audiences. The album’s enduring popularity is evident in its consistent presence on various U.S. charts, recently climbing back into the top 10 due to increased sales and renewed interest.
Sales of ‘Thriller’ Experience a Notable Boost
Sales of Thriller in all formats saw a considerable increase of over 28% in the latest tracking period. According to Luminate, the album sold 3,900 copies in the U.S., pushing it from No. 17 to No.10 on the Vinyl Albums chart.
While not exclusively vinyl purchases, Thriller remains a staple for vinyl collectors, ensuring its frequent appearance on the chart. Simultaneously, the Grammy-winning album rose from No. 30 to No. 25 on the Top Album Sales chart, which encompasses vinyl, CD, cassette, and digital downloads.
