Michael Cantrell “Mike D.” David, a resident of Rockford, passed away on August 3, 2025. He was 43 years old. Born on October 29, 1981, in Rockford, he was the son of robin Walston and Michael L. David.

Mr. David worked as a forklift operator at Gunite Foundry, following in his grandfather’s footsteps. He was raised in Living Faith Tabernacle under the leadership of Rev. James Stanley Sr. He attended several Rockford churches, graduated from Guilford High School after receiving his G.E.D. He was known for his sense of humor and compassion, especially towards children.

He is survived by his children: three sons, Michael L. David,Myaire K.L.David, and Makai H. David; and three daughters, Mikayla C. david,Malani M. David, and Malaysia C. David. He also leaves behind his mother, robin Walston, and father, Michael L. David; two sisters, Michaela David and Joyaparis Walston; three nieces, Treasure Walston, Serenity David, and Seriyah David; and a nephew, Amir Walston. He is also survived by manny relatives and friends,including his cousin/brother Elijah Brown,special friend Maurice gregg,and the mothers of his children,Ebony Lewers and Latisha Gill.

he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Luke and Floyd David, and his maternal grandparents, Amos and Dorothy Walston.

Funeral Services

“He wore a smile in his eyes as well as his face, which spoke volumes without him saying a word.”

Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at House of Grace Church, located at 518 N. Court street. Burial will follow at Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
