Although expected during this fall, it was not expected soon. Photos of the all-new MGS6 EV have just leaked on the official EuroNCAP website. Indeed, the brand new 100% electric SUV from the Sino-British firm is one of the latest models tested for active and passive safety by the independent body based in Belgium. The newcomer hardly goes unnoticed to the extent that it appears neither more nor less than on the home page of the EuroNCAP website, alongside another novelty from the SAIC group set to start its commercial career in Europe: the IM5 sedan, seen last year at the Geneva motor show.

But it is the MGS6 EV that particularly interests us today, which is revealing its final lines for the first time. This being said, style patents had already been widely shared on social networks last summer. Published at the beginning of August by Auto-Moto, they appear to conform to the lines of the final model seeming to be extrapolated from the MGS5 EV, in a large format version since it should extend to approximately 4.60 m. One thing is certain: its weight: 1,908 kg, as well as its availability in two- and four-wheel drive.

Good publicity for the MGS6 EV, before its release
Good news, the new MGS6 EV seems to have achieved five stars, the maximum rating awarded by EuroNCAP, thus beating the unfortunate Citroën C5 Aircross and DS N°8 having only obtained four. It proves to be particularly safe for its adult occupants with a success rate of 92% in meeting the criteria used by the organization, when its protection for children reaches 85%; in the average obtained by the other models tested in 2025. It is much better in terms of pedestrian protection with a rate rising to 84%, compared to 89% for the best of the lot (Tesla Model 3), before finding itself once again in the soft underbelly of the ranking, in terms of driving assistance systems with 78% success.
Still gray areas
It remains to be known the extent of the characteristics of this new MGS6 EV, the reveal of which will not be long in coming with the start of marketing certainly planned for the first light of 2026 at a price that we imagine to be very competitive, as always from MG.
