Miami – Sandy Alcántara allowed two races in just over seven tickets, Connor Norby connected a home run and the Miami Marlins traced to overcome the New York Mets 6-2 on Friday night.
The Mets lost the third charming position of the National League when Cincinnati beat Milwaukee later on Friday. The Reds tied with the METS in the classification, but maintain the tiebreaker criteria.
Xavier Edwards connected three hits and Otto López hit a double and a single for the Marlins.
Alcántara (11-12) calmed down after allowing the initial homer of the Puerto Rican Francisco Lindor, on the 31st of the campaign, and the double producer of Pete Alonso in the first entry. The winner of the Cy Young Prize of the National League 2022 allowed six hits in the first three tickets and then withdrew 10 consecutive before Lindor received bases for balls to open the eighth entrance that ended his performance.
The Marlins punished the starter of the Mets, Brandon Sproat (0-2), during a fifth input of six races to overcome a 2-0 disadvantage. Heriberto Hernández connected a triple of two races and scored with a role producer of Jakob Marse. Xavier Edwards connected a simple producer and the home run of two races from Norby, as emerging, against reliever Gregory Soto crowned the explosion.
Cade Gibson relieved Alcántara and took out the first two outs of the eighth. Tyler Phillips closed with the rescue with four outs after the Mets filled the bases in the eighth.
Lindor’s home run in the first post was his eleventh home run of the season when he opened the entrance.
Sproat allowed four races and five hits in 4.2 inputs. It was the fourth opening of Sproat’s career since he was promoted by Triple-A on September 7.
The third base of the Mets, Brett Bitch, left the game in the second entry due to pain on the side.
