Elwood, Indiana, is set to receive a significant boost to its broadband infrastructure with an upcoming fiber-optic network expansion by Metronet.
The investment in Elwood is fully funded through private capital, ensuring a smooth rollout of advanced internet services to the community.

Metronet plans to connect thousands of homes and businesses in the city, with services expected to be available this spring.
Elwood Mayor Todd Jones expressed enthusiasm about the new addition to the local telecom landscape.
“As our community continues to grow, we are excited to welcome Metronet to Elwood. Expanded provider options mean increased competition and better service for our residents and businesses,” Jones stated.

Michele Johnson, Metronet’s new market development manager, underscored the importance of fiber-optic technology for the growing city.
“We are proud to bring our fast, reliable, and lag-free fiber-optic internet to a growing number of communities in Indiana, including Elwood. We believe multigigabit fiber internet is essential,” Johnson said.
The new network will deliver exceptional speeds—five gigabits per second for residents and ten gigabits per second for businesses—positioning Elwood at the forefront of broadband internet technology.

Metronet advises residents to stay informed about construction activities that will occur in the coming months.
“Residents will begin to see construction trucks in the area, so please look for notifications of upcoming construction activities,” the company stated.

Elwood is just one of several recent Metronet expansions. The company has also announced upgrades in Round Lake, Illinois, and Killeen, Texas, reflecting its commitment to expanding high-speed internet access nationwide.
