Rain-related delays on underground metro systems are not uncommon. Heavy rainfall can overwhelm drainage systems, leading to water accumulation on tracks and in tunnels. This poses a safety risk, requiring trains to reduce speed or even halt operations until the water is cleared. Regular maintenance and upgrades to drainage infrastructure are crucial to mitigating these disruptions.
Alternative Transportation Options
During periods of significant metro delays, commuters are encouraged to consider alternative transportation options such as bus services, ride-sharing, or cycling. Real-time traffic and public transportation updates can help inform travel decisions and minimize disruptions.
