“Sleepless Empire”: A New Chapter for Lacuna Coil

Released in February 2025, Sleepless empire marks Lacuna Coil’s tenth studio album [[1]]. Preceded by singles such as Gravity, Never Dawn, Hosting the Shadow (featuring Randy Blythe of Lamb of God), meanwhile (with Ash Costello of New Years Day), and Oxygen, the album explores themes relevant to the modern human condition.

“gravity”: A Song of Resilience

The single Gravity delves into the themes of fate and the struggles of everyday life,ultimately delivering a message of resilience. The band shared their thoughts on the song’s meaning:

It is not easy to maintain stability in such arduous times, we feel lost and also struggle to breathe while shouting to ask for help. How should we face these moments? We should seek help or rather isolate ourselves from the world to collect the pieces in our golden and misanthropic cage? We hope that ‘Gravity’ you like it as much as we will make you think about it and take advantage of it to the maximum.

“Sleepless Empire”: A Reflection of the Digital Age

Sleepless Empire follows Comalies XX (2022), a reimagining of their 2002 album, Comalies. The band describes the album as a commentary on the digital age:

It is indeed a disc that tells,through our eyes,the chaos of a generation trapped in a digital world that never stops,where social media destroy identity and push us,every day more,to transform us into zombies without a soul. We find ourselves in the middle, we have lived the world in analogue and we now live, The evolution and meaning of everything.

The album features 11 tracks, each designed to evoke a specific moment and place, creating a sonic landscape that reflects the complexities of modern life.

Global Tour: Bringing “Sleepless Empire” to the World

To support the release of Sleepless Empire,Lacuna Coil has embarked on an extensive world tour. The tour includes dates across Latin America and Mexico in March, followed by a North American leg in April and May alongside Machine Head and fear factory.
