Meta Layoffs: Austerity Plan & 20% Cuts?

by Archynetys Economy Desk

Meta plans to lay off 20 percent of its employees, three sources told Reuters.

According to the sources, the plans have recently been communicated from the company’s management to managers in the organization. The cuts are said to be a way to compensate for large investments in AI, including investments in data centers and the recruitment of AI researchers with very high salaries.

A spokesperson for the company tells Reuters that the information is “speculative reporting”.
