Lionel Messi is simply unstoppable!
Just at the weekend, the 38-year-old led Inter Miami to a clear 4-0 win against Atlanta United with a brace. But the superstar still hadn’t had enough.
Just three days later, Messi also shone in the Argentine national team’s uniform. In the 6-0 friendly win against Puerto Rico, the world champion provided two assists – setting a new record.
With a total of 60 assists at national team level, Messi has surpassed the previous records of Neymar and Landon Donovan (both 58 assists). He made his first assist in the “Albiceleste” jersey on his World Cup debut in 2006 – he was just 19 years old at the time.
