German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will go to Israel on Saturday for his first visit to the country since taking office.
Merz will first visit Jordan for talks with King Abdullah II before flying on to Israel in the evening. On Sunday, he will meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Merz was originally supposed to visit Norway earlier this week, but that visit was postponed in favor of talks with Belgium in connection with the EU’s so-called replacement loan to Ukraine. (NTB)
