A tragic accident on the Mérida-Campeche Road has resulted in at least 15 muertos, according to the yucatan Public Security Secretary (SSP).

The state authority reported that the road accident occurred at Kilometer 127, near Trap the plum-kopomá, this Saturday, September 13, 2025.

A cargo truck, a private vehicle, and a collective taxi were involved in the collision.

Emergency services, including the SSP Yucatan SSP and SSP SSP for Risk Control, Attention of Victims and Transfer of Wounded, responded to the scene.

Details of the Incident

“In the place, 15 people killed, including the driver of the tractocamión who remained aboard the unit and a more calcined person inside the collective taxi,” the statement read.

“This is an unfortunate fact that reflects the importance of road prevention,”

The Yucatan SSP stated that paramedics treated two injured individuals at the site. The area remains secured by the National Guard while investigations are underway.

“The Corporation urges citizens to extreme precautions when traveling along federal roads, respecting speed limits and attending the road safety provisions to prevent accidents,” the agency said in a social media message.

The Sict Yucatán center indicated on social media that traffic is halted in both directions at kilometer 127 of the Mérida-Campeche Road.

“The @Gn_Carreteras and the @sspyuc, coordinate the aid actions in the accident area,” it was stated.
