Espen Evjenth from the witness box in Oslo District Court said when he explained to have been shot in his head during the night of June 25, 2022 (see fact box below).
On Tuesday, the trial started against extreme Islamist Arfan Bhatti where he is charged with complicity in the attack.
The 48-year-old has always denied criminal charges.

* At 1.13 night until Saturday, June 25, 2022, Zaniar Matapour (45) fired 18 shots at people who were in and outside the bar per corner and the London Pub nightclub in the center of Oslo. The shooting took place during Oslo Pride.
* Kåre Arvid Hesvik and Jon Erik Isachsen were killed by the shots, while nine others were inflicted on gunshot injuries. A total of 312 people have had the status of offended in the case.
* Matapour was charged with serious terror. Oslo District Court stated July 4 last year that he was accountable after the indictment and sentenced him to a penalty of custody for 30 years, with a minimum time of 20 years. He appealed the verdict, but withdrew the appeal in January 2025.
* Another four people were originally charged in the case, including Islamist Arfan Bhatti. Everyone refused criminal charges. The case against two of them is closed and Bhatti still refuses criminal charges.
* Bhatti is now charged with complicity in the terrorist act. The prosecuting authority believes the attack took place after joint planning, with the assistance and support of Bhatti. He should also have assisted in the procurement of weapons and attempts to make contact with the terrorist organization IS in order to assume responsibility for the action.
* The lawsuit against Arfan Bhatti starts in the Oslo District Court on Tuesday and is scheduled until November 7.

Terror Offers: – It is expensive to be a victim
From the witness box, the terror victim also talked about how the injury has characterized him afterwards. Over three years have passed since the attack.
– With regard to working life, the incident has been completely devastating. I have always worked and been proud of my work capacity. But it has been heavy mental and what happened has in many ways changed me as a person, Evjenth said.
During his explanation, pictures of bullet holes were shown on the left side of the head hours after he was shot. Today, the hole is gone, but the scars are visible.
A few meters away sat the extreme Islamist Bhatti. Several times he stared at the victim in the witness box.

A total of eleven people were shot and two were killed by Bhatti buddy Zaniar Matapour during the attack. Last year, he was sentenced to the most severe punishment of the law, 30 years in custody.

Bhatti claims he was tortured jail

Bhatti has refused to explain the case in police questioning and would also say nothing when he testified in the trial against Matapour last year. In interrogation, he has criticized the Police Security Service (PST) and the police, in addition to the Norwegian authorities in general.
