Measles symptoms and prevention measures

According to the Ministry of Health, measles is a highly transmissible viral disease that spreads through respiratory droplets when coughing or sneezing.

Initial symptoms include fever, cough, nasal congestion, and conjunctivitis. Subsequently, a skin rash appears that starts on the face and spreads to the rest of the body.

The health authority points out that the main prevention measure is vaccination with the triple viral vaccine (MMR), which protects against measles, rubella and mumps. The scheme includes two doses, applied in childhood.

Likewise, it is recommended to go to medical units in the presence of symptoms and avoid contact with sick people to reduce the chain of transmission.
