MDAX Weak Start: March 23, 2026 Trading Update

On Monday, at 9:10 a.m. via XETRA, the MDAX was trending 2.18 percent lower at 27,189.03 points. On the stock exchange, the values ​​included are worth 331,252 billion euros. Previously, the MDAX started trading 1.86 percent weaker at 27,278.98 points, after 27,796.28 points the day before.

Over the course of the day, the MDAX fell to 27,115.53 points. The stock market barometer, however, marked its highest level at 27,287.87 points.

MDAX since the beginning of the year

A month ago, on February 23, 2026, the MDAX had a value of 31,379.41 points. Three months ago, on December 23, 2025, the MDAX was at 30,302.78 points. A year ago, XETRA trading was suspended for weekend reasons. On the previous trading day, March 21, 2025, the MDAX recorded a level of 28,783.60 points.

The index has already fallen by 12.24 percent since the beginning of 2026. This year, the MDAX has already reached an annual high of 32,383.56 points. The annual low, however, was registered at 27,115.53 points.

The strongest individual stocks in the MDAX currently include Delivery Hero (+ 2.29 percent to EUR 15.64), FUCHS SE VZ (+ 0.92 percent to EUR 32.94), Bechtle (+ 0.78 percent to EUR 25.96), IONOS (-0.20 percent to EUR 24.35) and RATIONAL (-0.32 percent to EUR 618.00). On the losing side in the MDAX, however, are Salzgitter (-7.50 percent to EUR 33.04), Nordex (-4.75 percent to EUR 43.28), TKMS thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (-4.65 percent to EUR 81.00), thyssenkrupp (-3.92 percent to EUR 7.36) and LEG Immobilien (-3.79 percent to EUR 53.25).

The trading volume of Lufthansa shares is currently the highest in the MDAX. 1,189,737 shares were last traded via XETRA. The Porsche vz share currently has the largest market capitalization in the MDAX at EUR 31,548 billion.
