The funk player MC Daniel27, spoke out officially for the first time after controversies involving his ex-girlfriend, the influencer Lorena Maria26. In a video published on social media on Monday night (22), the singer admitted to having had a relationship with someone else, but denied that it was a betrayal.
In the video, the singer outlines a timeline of his relationship with Lorena, stating that they met in March 2024 and began dating at the same time. According to MC Daniel, both were with other people during this period and it was not a relationship.
“In July, she came with the news that she was pregnant. In this case, we were surprised, but with a mix of joy on my part. In my case, I was very happy”, he says. “In this case, we didn’t have a relationship. Both were with other people, had relationships with other people. We didn’t have any agreement, neither on my part nor on her part to have a relationship like that. After all, we were getting to know each other”, he explains.
Then, MC Daniel explained that the two only started dating in August 2024, and that he had hooked up with another woman in June, that is, before his relationship with Lorena became official. The funk player then exposes prints of conversations with the other affair.
“I hooked up with a girl in June. I exchanged messages with the girl other times, but it was party stuff, shows and such. And then there was that other message in August. I hooked up with the girl in June and started dating in August, so I wasn’t dating her [Lorena]. She knows that I wasn’t dating her, so much so that she discovered these messages in January of this year and didn’t break up with me”, he says.
Then, MC Daniel accuses Lorena of having kept prints of the conversation to expose the situation as a betrayal. “Now, after many months, she saved this print with some intention back then and decided to release it now in December, even though we haven’t been together for five, six months,” he says.
Then, the funk singer denies not having paid his son’s pension with Lorena. “That never happened, I think it’s kind of obvious. If there’s a law that works in Brazil, it’s the pension law. If I didn’t pay pension for my son, I’d be in prison, I’d be legally answering for it,” he says.
According to MC Daniel, the disagreements regarding spending on their son began when Lorena asked him to register the two nannies hired to take care of the baby, which he denied. “I pay them, but it doesn’t make sense for me to register the nannies who work in a house that I don’t live in or spend time with. I don’t know if they are being treated well, I have no control over absences, over schedules, over any of that”, he says.
The singer also denies having exposed Lorena’s traumas and personal stories. “I didn’t give an interview anywhere talking about it, I didn’t post anywhere about it, I didn’t talk to anyone about it anywhere. So, it was the person who exposed it”, he states. “What happened was completely taken out of context.”

Understand the controversy
The controversy involving MC Daniel and Lorena Maria began after rumors that the funk singer was not paying child support for the ex-couple’s 10-month-old son, Rás. In a public note released in October, Lorena explained some arrangements made at the time of the separation.
“Daniel helps with the rent of the house where we lived, and today I live with our son, which I will need to leave in February. After the end, I asked him to cover the cost of the nanny, which I covered”, he added.
Elsewhere, she stated that she will contact the legal team so that the matter is handled with respect by both parties.
“None of these amounts are directed to my account, also by my choice, precisely to avoid misinterpretations or the judgment that I ‘live on a pension’. For internal reasons (which I don’t want to have to say here or resolve here), I decided to contact the legal department so that all issues are dealt with correctly and with due respect”, she declared.
Earlier this same day, MC Daniel also shared a note from his advisor, stating that he contributes amounts in excess of R$38,000 towards the care of his son. Furthermore, the defense says that matters related to Rás will be dealt with privately, aiming to protect the boy’s image.
On the 12th, the influencer used social media to vent about her relationship with MC Daniel and accused him of having cheated on her during her pregnancy.
“I’m going to leave a print here of when I was pregnant and you had a sexual relationship, in person, with several women. I took a print of just one, because that was the hardest. I’m going to leave it here for people to draw their own conclusions. Who is the compulsive liar?”, he asked.
At the time, the influencer also said that Daniel would be disrupting her relationship with her biological mother. “He goes straight after her, not just him, but other people in his family, trying to destroy me in every way.”
She further alleged that the funk singer would use the abuse she suffered as a child to affect her, and that he would have insinuated that she recently traveled to Jamaica to prostitute herself. “He was dealing with a very serious matter, a horrible crime, which nowadays, thank God, people defend children and teenagers much more and take it much more seriously. So you can see how low and sneaky this man is.”
MC Daniel’s show was canceled after controversy
MC Daniel’s performance that would take place during New Year’s Eve celebrations in Fernando de Noronha, Pernambuco, was canceled last Sunday (21) by the island’s administration.
In a statement issued on social media, the Noronha administration stated that the decision had been made following “recent controversies” that “go against the principles” of the island.
“The decision was taken due to recent repercussions that go against the principles of social responsibility that guide the actions of this Administration, especially as it is an event that celebrates diversity, harmonious coexistence and the spirit of renewal that marks New Year’s Eve in Fernando de Noronha.”
The note reaffirms its commitment to “responsible programming”, which values locals, visitors and the “positive image of the archipelago”.
