Maxim Busel, the celebrated actor, singer, and winner of “Sing,” has released his latest single, “Dark Night, Green Hall,” a folk song available on all streaming platforms as of June 20th.This emotionally resonant interpretation arrives just in time for the Ligo celebration.

This rendition of “Dark Night, Green Hall” was first performed on the show “Sing me,” where it quickly garnered audience acclaim, solidifying Maxim’s position as a frontrunner and eventual champion. Folk music researcher Valdis Muktupāvels has also praised his genuine and heartfelt approach to the song.

“In this song, my love for both our culture and the nature of Latvia, which gives me strength. this known melody dared to give my personal sound,” says Maxim.

The track features arrangements crafted in collaboration with music producer John zvirgzdiņš, with vocal coaching provided by vocal pedagogue Una Stade. The Laima Jansone Kokle Party adds a distinctive sound, which, according to Maxim, “sounds like the strings of the soul.”

“When Laima agreed to participate, the song finally got the special feeling I long – her kokle game became the heart of this version. Kokle is my favourite folk instrument! Like Rainis,” I play, dance “, where tots is playing kokle.

The song also incorporates the RDKS Gospel Choir, symbolizing unity and the voice of the people.

“I really wanted the choir to sing with me in this version – as a symbol of the people’s voice. When one melody begins to sound in the voices of many people and they sing in one direction, hearing each othre – only that is we all able to go through the darkness to the light,” says Maxim, who previously sang in the choir for a decade.
