Final straight before the first round of the municipal elections. While the electoral campaign is in its final days, the candidate of La France insoumise in Marseille, Sébastien Delogu, claims to be targeted by digital interference from abroad. He filed a complaint for “acts of defamation against an individual by image or communication by electronic means”after online publications targeting him, his lawyer, Yonès Taguelmint, told AFP. Following this complaint, an investigation was opened for defamation, the Marseille prosecutor’s office announced on Tuesday March 10.

“I have been the target since the beginning of my campaign of indecent and defamatory accusations”castigated Sébastien Delogu on Tuesday on the sidelines of a press conference. This campaign took the form of a fake site called “Sophie’s blog”, presenting itself as that of a former collaborator writing under a pseudonym and claiming to have the objective of describing “how Sébastien Delogu hurt me and destroyed my life”. It notably contains insinuations that could suggest violence.

Posters with a QR code allowing access to this site have been posted in several places in the city, according to photos taken by Sébastien Delogu’s team and sent to AFP. The blog site, like its versions on Facebook or X, were no longer accessible on Tuesday, AFP noted.

According to the revelations of Mondethis blog is linked to “a web of fake accounts on the social network” X, which also targets the LFI candidate for Toulouse town hall, François Piquemal. François Piquemal’s campaign team, for its part, declared to AFP that the candidate intended to file a complaint “this week” on these facts.

This manipulation operation follows another operation against the center-right candidate for mayor of Paris, Pierre-Yves Bournazel, attributed Friday by Viginum, the service responsible for combating these online manipulations, to a network linked to Russia.
