New Leadership for Mars Petcare France-Benelux: Laure Mahé Takes the Helm

Laure Mahé, formerly at the helm of Mars Food & Nutrition France, has been appointed as the new CEO of Mars Petcare France-benelux.Her primary objective is to build upon Mars’ existing strategy, placing the Petcare segment at the forefront of the company’s development. Given that animal nutrition accounts for 60% of Mars’ global and French turnover,this segment is undeniably a critical driver of the company’s success.

Mahé’s background includes a degree from HEC in 2010 and experience at McKinsey & Company, were she honed her expertise in the agrifood sector, supporting key players in distribution across European and North American markets. She also served as director of Alpro France at Danone, spearheading the development of their plant-based product line. Her diverse experience positions her well to lead Mars Petcare into the future.

One of Mahé’s key responsibilities will be to drive the growth of major brands like Pedigree, Whiskas, and Sheba, while concurrently aligning with the company’s ambitious sustainability goals. This includes Mars’ commitment to achieving zero net greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its entire value chain by 2050, with an interim target of a 50% reduction by 2030, validated by the Science Based targets Initiative (SBTI). She will oversee 800 employees and continue the investment policy focused on modernizing the French factories in Saint-Denis-de-l’Hôtel and Ernolsheim.

Taking over from Laure Mahé, Julien Pergay has been appointed as the head of Mars Food & Nutrition France. With 12 years of experience within Mars, Pergay brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success. In his previous role, he led trade relations with major international customers such as Carrefour, Auchan, and Metro across all Mars segments. His experience also includes stints at Unilever and Eclor.
