Researchers from the University of Texas in the United States and the University of Texas in the United States analyzed seismic data obtained within the scope of NASA’s “InSight” mission.
Unlike long -term views, scientists have reached evidence that Mars has a solid inner core. This inner nucleus, Mars depths of 600 kilometers of radius said.
Pointing out that this solid mass, which corresponds to about 18 percent of Mars’s radius, is similar to the inner core of the Earth, researchers said that the findings within the scope of the study are reference to the thermal and chemical state of the planet.
They crystallizing and leave the outer core
Researchers have announced that the inner nucleus is formed by the condensation of light elements such as carbon, oxygen and hydrogen, and that these elements were separated from the outer core through crystallization.
Mars’ strong magnetized shell in the past despite the lack of global magnetic field of the planet’s dynamo activity has ended, indicating that the researchers, the core crystallization and the presence of the inner nucleus may play a decisive role in understanding this process, he noted.
In contrast to previous views, researchers stressed that this study, which reveals that Mars does not have a completely liquid core, shed light on long -standing debates on the formation and evolution of the planet.
The research was published in the magazine “Nature”.
