The Spanish women’s team extended its love affair with the Nations League and won it this Tuesday for the second time in two editions by beating Germany 3-0 at the Metropolitano, in a duel that it dominated from start to finish and that was decided in less than fifteen minutes by Claudia Pina, with a double, and Vicky López.
Twelve minutes that will remain in the history of our team and that once again crown a team that continues to improve and prove to be the best team in the world. To celebrate this victory, one of the big stars, Mariona Caldentey, came to the microphones of Radioestadio Noche: “It was a great night. Playing at home, beating Germany 3-0 with the stadium almost full, it was a perfect night.”
55,843 people cheered for Spain at the Metropolitano, breaking the record for maximum spectators at a women’s team match in Spain: “I hope people continue to join in, it was a spectacular atmosphere, we felt it a lot. Today was on another level. We came with a lot of desire to do things well after the game against Germany and everything went smoothly.”
This marks the first title for coach Sonia Bermúdez, who has begun her time as head of La Roja with this competition. A year to remember for Mariona who has won titles with Arsenal, the national team and came second in the Ballon d’Or: “I think this generation is in very good years and we have to take advantage of it. This year has been very special and surely difficult to match.”
