The White House began to open the curtain on the Trump–Rubio–Witkoff “peace plan” to end the war between Russia and Ukraine… and the known pieces are already generating tension in kyiv, Moscow and Washington.
According to spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, the plan is “good for both Russia and Ukraine” and is already in negotiation, although still under review. The team that drafted it worked quietly for a month: Steve Witkoff, special envoy, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who spoke with both sides.
What has been leaked from the content points to a high-impact agreement:
— Cession of territories occupied today by Russia.
— Significant reduction of the Ukrainian Army.
Two explosive points that set off immediate alarms in kyiv.
Ukraine received the document and is evaluating it cautiously. Zelensky will speak with Trump in the coming days. His team says it is willing to work on the points “if they allow a dignified end to the war.”
Washington, for its part, insists that the objective is a peace that stabilizes Europe in the long term and recalls the agreements reached by Trump in the Middle East as an example that the “impossible” could be viable again.
Moscow, on the other hand, plays the mystery: it acknowledges that the plan exists, but claims not to know if it responds directly to Trump or only to his entourage. And, above all, he does not say what he would be willing to give in exchange.
Meanwhile, American media such as Axios had already revealed that Russia and the US were working on a secret plan weeks ago.
In summary:
Trump is betting on a quick and radical agreement; Ukraine fears unbalanced concessions; Russia considers how to take advantage.
The negotiation is alive… and each point that is leaked will only increase the pressure.
