(PressFire.no): Nintendo has nailed the launch date for its upcoming “Mario Tennis Fever” for Switch 2.
In a recent overview trailer, it is revealed that the game will arrive on store shelves as early as February 12.
The trailer also showcases a new game mechanic called “Fever Rackets”. These are specialized rackets with unique properties, such as an ice variant that can freeze parts of the court to make life miserable for the opponent.
By filling up your own meter, you can unleash a powerful “Fever Shot”, but if the opponent is quick enough, they can return the blow and turn the effect back on the sender.
It is also promised that the game will have the largest character gallery in the history of the series.
Alongside the usual faces such as Mario, Luigi and Peach, we also get some more unorthodox debutants. Both Goomba, Nabbit and a Piranha Plant don their tennis briefs for the first time, along with grotesque baby versions of Wario and Waluigi.
On the same day that the game launches, February 12, Nintendo will also release a new set of Joy-Con 2 controllers.
These will be the first new colors for the Switch 2 console since its launch last year, and come in a combination of light purple and light green.
