At the same time, the Extraordinary Meeting of the Company approved an amendment to the Articles of Association, “introducing the possibility of proceeding with the appointment of an Honorary President to be attributed to anyone who has contributed significantly to the history, development and reputation of the Company” and at the same time proceeded with the appointment of Maria Franca Ferrero as its Honorary President for life.
The unanimous consent of the Shareholders, continues the note, “was dictated by the need to express a dutiful recognition and express strong gratitude for Mrs. Ferrero for over twenty-seven years as director and President of the Company, as well as for the precious work of support and advice alongside her husband, Mr. Michele Ferrero, founder of the Group, over a period of more than fifty years. To this determination of the Shareholders was added the full agreement of the Directors of the Company”.
Maria Franca Ferrero, in her new role as Honorary President, “will continue with unchanged commitment to collaborate in the life of the company, and in particular in the elaboration and development of its cultural and social activities managed through the Piera, Pietro & Giovanni Ferrero Foundation of Alba, of which she has long been its appreciated and esteemed President”.
Given the changes introduced, the Board of Directors of Ferrero International SA is now composed of Giovanni Ferrero, President, Lapo Civiletti, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, and the directors Daniel Martinez Carretero, Fabrizio Minneci, Filomena Vozzola and Guido Giannotta.
