The former Italy forward is stepping into the role previously held by Paul Deacon, who departed from the club on Wednesday after serving since 2020.

Bortolami, aged 45, brings a wealth of experience, having served as head coach for United Rugby Championship (URC) club Benetton for the past four years. even though his contract with Benetton was set to run until June 2026, an agreement was reached in February to terminate it early, allowing him to leave at the end of the season.
