Man Shot by Police – Øygarden, Bergen – NRK

At 21.10 on Monday, police were notified of a man who seemed intoxicated and aggressive on Straume.

Police received several reports that the man possibly was in possession of an ax, says operations manager Steinar Hausvik.

The police moved out with several patrols.

– We are looking for the man now. It has not been reported that anyone is injured, reports operations manager Hausvik at 21.34.

At 22.13, the police reported that they were in control of the man and that the police shot him in connection with the arrest.

The shot hit the man in the leg.

– He is conscious and talked about. The person is now appointed by health, reports operations manager Hausvik at 22.16.

Police state that in line with routines, they have notified the Special Unit, which will now handle the case further.

The Police Department Special Unit states in a press release that they are investigating the case.

– The investigation will seek to clarify the course of events. Kripos will conduct a scene survey and secure traces on the site. During the night, the Special Unit will question involved service persons, a press release states.
