Pawar extended his greetings to citizens nationwide and expressed his congratulations to Padma and President Medal awardees from Maharashtra.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Announces Free Treatment for Guillain-Barré Syndrome Cases

Amidst the Republic Day celebrations, Pawar addressed a pressing health concern affecting Pune. He noted a significant rise in cases of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), a rare neurological condition characterized by sudden muscle weakness and numbness. To alleviate the high costs of treatment, Pawar announced that the government would provide free care to GBS patients.

Patients from Pimpri-Chinchwad will be treated at YCM Hospital, while those in Pune Municipal Corporation areas will receive care at Kamla Nehru Hospital. For residents of rural areas, free treatment will be available at Sassoon Hospital in Pune.

“The injections required for treatment cost around Rs8,000, but private facilities charge approximately Rs20,000. To mitigate this issue, we have made these decisions today, and we will follow up with additional measures after returning to Mumbai,” Pawar said.

Concerns Raised Over Sharad Pawar’s Health

Beyond healthcare announcements, Pawar also addressed concerns regarding the health of NCP Chief Sharad Pawar. At the VSI event, Sharad Pawar struggled with chest congestion, despite initial suggestions to rest. Despite these concerns, he insisted on attending a programme in Kolhapur, where his health further deteriorated.

“Doctors have advised Sharad Pawar to rest for four days, and he is following their recommendations,” Pawar stated.

Elsewhere in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid a wreath at the National War Memorial at India Gate. He paid tribute to the bravehearts who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Following this, President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the national flag, with assistance from Indian Navy officers Lieutenant Shubham Kumar and Lieutenant Yogita Saini.
