The saeta, frequently enough described as a flamenco prayer
, is typically sung a cappella from balconies during Holy week processions. It serves as an emotional and spontaneous expression of faith, connecting the singer, the procession, and the audience in a shared spiritual experience. The tradition dates back centuries, evolving from liturgical chants and incorporating the expressive elements of flamenco.
