Macerata Municipality: Smooth Project Delivery Confirmed

“My goal in recent months has always been to avoid the closure of the slaughterhouse because it is a central structure for the activity of many producers and small entrepreneurs in the area .- says the mayor Sandro Parcaroli – . For this reason I am happy that a local entrepreneur participated in the auction and, shortly, it will be my interest to speak with him, with Cozoma and with the trade associations to evaluate together the future of the Villa Potenza slaughterhouse, thus guaranteeing the continuity of the activity. I hope, but I have no doubt about this, that there will be maximum collaboration from all the associations that have always given their contribution to the solution of this complex situation.

As regards, however, the statements of councilor Perticarari I absolutely want to deny the hypothesis of fiscal damage.

The decision to participate in the public auction for the purchase of the ‘slaughterhouse’ real estate complex was made in full awareness that the times, compared to January 14th (the date by which to pay the deposit for the offer), would have been too short to guarantee the financial provision necessary for participation. Furthermore, the 2026/2028 budget had already been approved by the Council and already sent to the Council for approval.

That’s why it was gave an acceleration to the operation by presenting, first of all, an amendment to the 2026 Budget and DUP, thus allowing the expenditure forecast to become immediately operational starting from 1 January 2026.

Subsequently, following the approval of the amended Budget, we promptly required (with note dated 12/17/2025) a postponement of the auction precisely in light of the lack of technical time to take out the mortgage which would have guaranteed the financial coverage to proceed with the participation and possible purchase.

Unfortunately, the request was not accepted and, therefore, it was not possible to take out the loan to follow up on the expense procedure.

In conclusion, therefore, I want to reiterate that there was no technical setback, no oversight, nor any possible financial damage”.
