4 min. reading

In August 2021, Kabul was the scenes of scenes that we would never have wanted to see again, like a bad remake. The Taliban are back in the Afghan capital, for a new era of obscurantism. On Sunday 15, as the American army decides to leave the country, the French Embassy happens to be the last still protected place. Thousands of people then try to take refuge in it, in the hope of managing to flee a country where the most basic human rights are flouted.

Deputy Head of Embassy Security, divisional commander Mohamed Bida will then try at his own risk to negotiate with the Taliban the organization of a convoy which, on the sidelines of French staff, would also evacuate hundreds of Afghans and Afghanes. He will tell this story in 13 days, 13 nights. In Kabul’s hella story which, after inspired the series Kabul Broadcast this spring, is today a film by Martin Bourboulon (Les Diptyques Dad or mom et The three musketeers, Eiffel), with a Roschdy Zem as always very solid, in the role of Mohamed Bida, and Lyna Khoudri in that of Eva, a young employee of a humanitarian organization who will serve as a translator.
