TikTokers exhibit paintings at the Louvre Mona Lisa

France’s Louvre Museum, which exposed problems with its security system when thieves stole royal jewels, has once again revealed a security hole.

On the 13th, two TikTokers from Belgium posted a picture of themselves pasting a picture on the wall of the Mona Lisa painting in the Louvre Museum on their TikTok account.

Those who usually upload reckless challenge videos said that they took this action to check whether the security measures at the Louvre Museum had actually been strengthened after the jewel theft incident.

In the video, they separate a picture frame made of Lego into several pieces, roll up the picture they drew, put it in a bag, and enter the museum.

After safely passing the security checkpoint, they arrived at the exhibition room where Leonardo da Vinci‘s Mona Lisa was located. After assembling a Lego frame and a painting containing their faces, avoiding the eyes of the guards, they placed the frame on another wall a few meters away from the Mona Lisa painting and left the scene.

“We couldn’t hang the Mona Lisa on the wall because there were too many security guards,” they said in the video, adding, “We didn’t want to provoke the security guards or wait for their reaction.”

The Louvre’s lax security system has been heavily criticized after amateur thieves stole royal jewels worth 150 billion won last month.

Recently, it was revealed through an anonymous interview with an internal employee that the Louvre Museum’s security password was ‘Louvre’.
