That’s how much bigger the Christmas budget was for one lucky Arkansas resident on Christmas Eve.
After three months without any top wins, a lucky winner could collect 1.8 billion dollars, or the equivalent of around 16.5 billion Swedish kronor, on the lottery.
The winning amount for the Powerball lottery game has been piled high and after 46 draws, the winner in Arkansas with the numbers 04, 25, 31, 52, 59 and 19 was able to collect the second largest lottery win in US history.
The game’s odds are 1 in 292.2 million. A Powerball ticket costs two dollars, less than 20 kroner.
The biggest lottery win ever was raked in on the same game in 2022, when a man in California won $2 billion, approximately SEK 18.7 billion.
“Congratulations to the latest Powerball jackpot winner! This is truly an extraordinary, life-changing win,” Lottery CEO Matt Strawn said in a statement after last night’s billion-dollar win.
