Dallas Stars’ Playoff Run Ends in Western Conference Final

For teh third consecutive year, the Dallas Stars’ campaign concluded in the Western Conference Final, leaving Captain Jamie Benn adn coach Pete Deboer to reflect on the team’s performance and future.

The Dallas Stars’ journey in the 2024-2025 playoffs ended in the Western Conference Final for the third year running. This marks the fourth time in six seasons that the Stars have reached this stage.

“It is indeed clear that it displeases you,” said Captain Jamie Benn, who could become an autonomous player without compensation, after 16 seasons with Dallas.

In 2020, playing in the bubble, the Stars defeated the golden Knights in five games, under the guidance of their current coach, Pete Deboer. However, they subsequently lost to the Lightning of Tampa Bay in six games in the Stanley Cup Final.

“You have to continue knocking on the door,” said Deboer. It’s really, really challenging to win in this league. When ther are only four teams left, the difficulty is exponential. »»

Throughout the recent series, the Stars conceded the first goal in 15 of their 18 games.

Offensive Struggles in the Playoffs

During the regular season, the Dallas stars were a potent offensive force, finishing third in the NHL with an average of 3.35 goals per game. Though, their offensive output diminished considerably in the playoffs, averaging just 2.5 goals per game and being shut out four times.

“You have to continue knocking on the door,” said Deboer.

Mikko Rantanen led the Stars with nine goals and 22 points in the playoffs, but all his goals came during a six-game stretch, followed by an eight-game drought. Veterans Jamie Benn and Matt Duchene each scored only one goal in the playoffs.

Mike modano, a member of the fame, is the only one in the history of the institution to have exceeded 1192 regular seasonal matches, 399 goals and 956 points from Benn.

“Jamie is our captain, he is our leader. We follow his example on a daily basis, said Johnston. It is indeed essential to our team, on the ice and outside. He is a fantastic person. »»
